Market Physician Executive (MD/DO) – New Jersey South Remote (within South New Jersey market)
Camden, Atlantic City, Burlington, Gloucester, Cumberland areas

About the role

We are seeking a mission-driven physician leader to serve as Market Physician Executive (MPE) for our South New Jersey market. This is a clinical and operational leadership role focused on delivering exceptional in-home care for complex, polychronic patients – primarily Medicare Advantage and managed Medicaid populations.

The MPE oversees 5-10 practices across the market, leading a team of advanced practice providers (APPs), registered nurses (RNs), licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), and pharmacists (PharmDs). This role is approximately 70% administrative and 30% clinical.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical and business operations across the South New Jersey market
  • Review, approve, and co-sign APP care plans and patient encounters
  • Conduct peer-to-peers with community physicians, facilities, and health plan partners
  • Drive population health management activities including high-risk patient identification and readmission reduction
  • Present market performance and outcomes to senior leadership
  • Oversee and mentor front-line clinical and operations team members
  • Order labs, referrals, and direct evidence-based care pathways

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Hospice and Palliative Care, or a related ACGME-approved specialty
  • Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proven physician leadership experience; Medical Director or APP oversight preferred
  • Experience in value-based care, risk-based models, or similar organizations strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Medicare Advantage, managed Medicaid, HEDIS, risk adjustment, and utilization management
  • Experience with renal care and/or geriatric populations preferred
  • Strong technology proficiency; EHR experience required
  • Willingness to obtain hospital privileges at required facilities
  • Willingness to become licensed in multiple states if needed

Work setting

Remote within the South New Jersey market. Occasional in-home patient visits and limited domestic travel required. In-person patient care is infrequent but must be available when needed.
