About the Role
Accounts Payable Specialist
Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000
Overview
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join their accounting team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to accuracy. The AP Specialist will handle full-cycle accounts payable responsibilities and support overall accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Manage weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies
- Assist with month-end close tasks, including AP accruals
- Monitor aging reports and respond promptly to vendor inquiries
- Support the implementation of process improvements and automation tools
- Collaborate with internal teams to address invoice or PO issues
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2-4+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Strong understanding of AP processes and internal controls
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems; high proficiency in Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Customer-service mindset when interacting with vendors and internal teams
