Join Our Team as a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Atlantic City, NJ Make a Difference in Critical Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide essential surgical services during a defined temporary period. This vital role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital environment, supporting critical cardiac care in a respected facility. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes, offering invaluable care in a Level II Trauma setting.

Required Skills:

• Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Valid New Jersey medical license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Proven experience in adult cardiac surgery, including CABG (Off-Pump and On-Pump), arterial revascularization, redo coronary revascularization, and pericardial window procedures
• Strong ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent decision-making and communication skills

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with Cerner PowerChart or similar EHR systems
• Prior experience in trauma or high-volume hospital settings
• Additional certifications in advanced cardiac procedures or minimally invasive techniques

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree completed at an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3 years of post-fellowship surgical experience
• Prior locum or temporary surgical coverage experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:

• Active NJ license and certification in BLS and ACLS
• Willingness to commit to the coverage period from June 1, 2026, to July 13, 2026
• Eligibility for credentialing within 30 days
• Ability to participate in on-call shifts, with an estimated 12-13 shifts per month
• Flexibility to work in a hospital setting with multiple ORs and ancillary staff support, including PA support, nurses, and intensivists
• Compensation includes orientation, daily, night call, holiday pay, overtime, and holiday overtime rates, with travel and licensure reimbursements as appropriate
