About the Role

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Call: 1:4 rotation (supported by hospitalists & APP team)

Position Overview:

A leading health system in southeastern New Jersey is seeking a visionary, board-certified Chief of Gastroenterology to lead the development of a high-impact academic GI division. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced gastroenterologist ready to build and expand advanced clinical services while shaping the future of GI care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and lead a comprehensive, cutting-edge GI program
• Expand advanced endoscopic and complex GI services
• Provide hands-on clinical leadership and expert patient care
• Recruit and mentor GI physicians, hospitalists, fellows, and support staff
• Collaborate across specialties, including oncology and surgical services
• Drive program growth, operational excellence, and academic initiatives

Certification Requirements:

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• Controlled Substance (CSR/CDS)
• DEA

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (required)
• Active or eligible for a New Jersey medical license
• COVID and Flu vaccination
• Leadership experience or program development experience preferred
• Open to experienced gastroenterologists only (no new graduates)
• Not open to locums, 1099, or visa sponsorship candidates
