About the Role

Job Title: Mold Maker (Tool & Die)
Location: Rockland, Westchester County, & Hudson Valley Area
Schedule: On-site, Monday-Friday (5 days/week)
Pay Rate: $40-$50/hour (based on experience)

Overview:
A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Mold Maker (Tool & Die) to join its team. This role is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining in-house molds and tooling with minimal supervision. The position requires working with tight tolerances and high-quality standards, utilizing a variety of tool room equipment and collaborating with external tooling vendors when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow cGMP guidelines and ensure compliance across all activities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Keep detailed logs of all work performed
• Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings to determine mold requirements
• Inspect molds and components for accuracy and quality compliance
• Troubleshoot and resolve mold-related issues (e.g., flashing, galling, venting, cooling)
• Disassemble, assemble, repair, clean, and polish molds with precision
• Perform close-tolerance machining using CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders
• Fabricate and assemble dies, molds, fixtures, and tooling components
• Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
• Modify and enhance existing molds, tools, and components
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate issues to supervisors
• Ensure molds are production-ready and meet all dimensional and visual quality standards
• Recommend design improvements and material substitutions when applicable
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical training or related experience preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a mold/tool maker
• At least 1 year of experience working with injection molds
• Strong understanding of molding processes and troubleshooting techniques
• Proficiency with tool room equipment and machine practices

Skills & Abilities:

• Injection molding experience required
• Familiarity with ISO standards preferred
• Pharmaceutical industry experience is a strong plus (not required)
• Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to interpret complex blueprints and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Travel:

• Occasional travel may be required, though it is not expected to be frequent

Pay Details: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour
